For a gymnast to move from Junior to Senior squad they must pass a skills and conditioning test.
This test is available for all junior gymnasts to see in the gym. The test is done in the gym twice a year.
Senior boys and girls are expected to train 2 to 3 sessions per week with each session 2 to 2.5 hrs. They are also expected to train at home on their strength and flexibility.
Senior girls will train and compete at Artistic level 3 to 9 or in the “plus” grades. They are also expected to train at home on their strength and flexibility.
Senior boys will train and compete at Artistic Club or Elite grades.
Senior gymnasts will compete at Gymnastic Ireland’s National Championships in Artistic Gymnastics. This is usually held in May of each year at the National Arena in Dublin.
